8GB (4*2) GSKILL RIPJAWS 2800mhz Memory. 2200G APU (Would be upgrading this in future) 500GB SSD. Theoretically yes but it's a crapshoot when mixing RAM. You shouldn't count on it working at all. Best chance if you can find exactly same RAM modules. DDR3 was quite forgiving which is not the case with DDR4.Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro 32GB (2 x 16GB) DDR4 3600MHz Desktop Memory (CMW32GX4M2D3600C18) (1780 Reviews) $134.99. $134.99. Even if it does work, it will still be sub-optimal since half or more of your RAM will be running in single channel mode. BabyBlu (Primary): CPU: Intel Core i9 9900K @ up to 5.3GHz, 5.0GHz all-core, delidded. Motherboard: Asus Maximus XI Hero. RAM: G.Skill Trident Z RGB 4x8GB DDR4-3200 @ 4000MHz 16-18-18-34. So most programs will basically use as much as they can to improve performance, if there is memory available. Like I have 32gb, and my baseline desktop usage is 12.5gb. But if I were to drop to 8gb, everything would use less memory because it doesn't see a giant pile of free memory. If the ram you’re looking at isn’t on the QVL four sticks has a much higher likelihood of having a compatibility issue compared to two sticks. IE two sticks are easier for a mobo to sync than four sticks. Otherwise performance difference btw two and four sticks is pretty negligible. Mostly comes down to how much you want to spend now vs
The numbers in your RAM stick represent the number of slots you have for the first number and then the amount of memory you have with the second number. 4 slots means that is usually the maximum number of slots available on a RAM stick, so here, we have 4 slots with 8 GB of RAM each on them. This totals 32 GB of RAM total.
Conclusion. Mixing the two 8GB and two 16GB RAMs isn’t impossible, but many restrictions come with it. The speed and performance may be opposite of what you imagined. Myths and misconceptions highlighted in the article need to be forgotten completely, and necessary guidelines followed. Consider using similar RAM sticks for effective
By Rammer Himel June 15, 2023. Though It is possible to use 2x16GB and 2x8GB RAM together, it is not recommended due to some major issues. For example, mixing RAM kits can cause issues with XMP settings and may result in slower performance. Also other issues like BSOD, auto restarts, and hard crashes may appear over time.
yes, you can put a couple of 16GB modules on the other couple of empty memory slots as long as they are same size in couples.
